This page explains which cookies and similar technologies privategrade.io uses, what they do, who sets them, how long they last, and how to control them. It is kept in plain language deliberately. The companion privacy policy covers the personal data behind these technologies in more detail.
What is a cookie?
A cookie is a small text file that a website stores on your device. It can hold an identifier so the site recognises you on the next visit, remember a preference (like your language), or record information for analytics or advertising. "Similar technologies" — local storage, session storage, pixel tags — work in different ways but with comparable privacy effects, and we treat them as cookies for the purposes of this policy.
The categories we use
We classify cookies into three categories, following the European Data Protection Board's guidance and the e-Privacy Directive.
- Strictly necessary cookies are required for the site to function or to remember a choice you have explicitly made (for example, the consent banner). They do not require your consent under the e-Privacy Directive.
- Analytics cookies help us understand how the site is used. They are loaded only after you grant consent through the banner.
- Marketing cookies are used to measure the effectiveness of advertising and build advertising audiences. They are loaded only after you grant consent through the banner.
What is set today
The only cookies set by default are strictly necessary ones — bot mitigation from our hosting provider, and the cookie that stores your consent choices. Analytics cookies are loaded only after you accept the analytics category in the consent banner. Marketing cookies are not currently wired into the site; they will be added in a future release and will likewise require your explicit consent before any are set.

We will update this table whenever we add, remove, or change a cookie.
How to manage your consent
Once the consent banner is live, you can:
- Accept or reject categories individually on first visit
- Re-open the banner from a link in the site footer to change your choices later
- Withdraw consent at any time — rejecting a category clears the cookies for that category and stops them being set again
Rejecting consent has no effect on the content or functionality of the site. We do not gate articles behind a consent wall.
Browser-level controls
Independently of our consent banner, every modern browser lets you block or delete cookies from its settings. The major browsers document this here:
Blocking strictly necessary cookies may break the site. Blocking analytics or marketing cookies will not.
